Majakaneng-Brits police arrested 5 suspects on Tuesday at around 12:00 at Majakaneng village near Mooinooi for Arson, Malicious damage to property, Intimidation, Assault Common and Public Violence, colonel Sabata Mokgwabone said.

The arrest follows intensive investigation on cases that were registered during Majakaneng community protests on 27 and 28 February 2014.

“Out of five suspects, 1 is facing a charge of Public Violence, another one is charged with Arson while the other 3 is facing charges of Arson, Malicious damage to property, Intimidation, Assault Common” colonel Sabata Mokwabone said.    

The arrested suspects ages range between 23 and 28.

“They will all appear in Brits Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

Investigations regarding the matter continue.-TDN
