Wits Make It Four Out Of Four

Second placed Wits claimed a fourth consecutive league victory as they brushed aside Polokwane City 3-1 in an Absa Premiership clash in Limpopo on Sunday.

The hosts had the first chance of the game through Galabgwe Moyana when the Polokwane City forward struck an effort just wide of the target with less than a minute on the clock.

Wits had to wait until the 19th minute of play to register their first shot of the match as Jabulani Shongwe let fly from the edge of the box, but his shot failed to find the target.

The visitors however did not have to wait long to break the deadlock as Siyabonga Nhlapo whipped in a cross for Shongwe to finish this time from close range, and make it 1-0 to Wits in Limpopo in the 27th minute.
Gavin Hunt’s men then doubled their lead 10 minute later as Papy Faty was awarded a penalty after being fouled in the box, and stepped up himself to power home the spot-kick to make it 2-0 to the Clever Boys.
Wits were not done yet and made it 3-0 on the stroke of half-time, as Sthembiso Ngcobo latched onto a cross from Pholoso Moerane before finishing with his left-foot.
Boebie Solomons’ side did however pull one back as they were awarded a pena;ty five minutes into the second-half for handball, which was dispatched by Vukile Mngqibisa.
