Taung-A 33 year-old man re-appears before Taung Magistrate Court after he was subsequently arrested, North West police said.
Xolani Nkonyane,33 was allegedly arrested after he was allegedly involved in a robbery led to a shoot-out with police in Molelema village, near Taung.
Nkonyane along with his other suspects allegedly robbed a chinese shop in Molelema.
“Five suspects were allegedly involved in a robbery and a the community member chased them after a chinese shop owner seek for help” said captain Pelonomi Makau.
Nkonyane appeared before court last week and he will briefly appear today for formal bail application.
“Airtime vouchers, groceries and undisclosed amount of money were robbed” Makau said.
Makau said police investigation continues and Nkonyane was charged with attempted murder and business robbery.
“Police were called after a chase by community members and cornered the suspects at Picong village.
Nkonyane was found in a minibus taxi allegedly used in a commission of crime.
“The minibus taxi was consficate as it forms part of investigations” concludes Makau.-TDN
