The South African Under-20 Women’s National team (Basetsana) defeated Tanzania 4-1 in the second round first leg of the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifier.

The match was played at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on Saturday 7 December.

It was an inspired performance by Basetsana as they turned on the heat with an impressive performance.

Basetsana head coach, Sheryl Botes said she was happy with the result and commended the girls for executing the game plan well. The coach urged the girls to carry the winning mentality into the second leg that will be played in a fortnight (Saturday, 21 December 2013) at the Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto.

The South Africans return on Sunday, 8 December and are expected to land at the O.R. Tambo International Airport at 09h25.-TDN
