Convicted murderer Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye may celebrate Christmas with his family if his lawyers have their way.

The award-winning musician’s defence council asked the South Gauteng High Court today to release him on bail pending the outcome of his appeal next year.

Johannesburg-Gauteng police has allegedly arrested Kaizer Chiefs well-known soccer star after he was implicated in hijacking.

Two days ago, one of vehicles hijacked in Johannesburg CBD was found at his parking lot.

The player,23, was arrested along with his accomplice.

Our source confirmed that during arrest, two suspects were allegedly wearing the player’s official Kaizer Chiefs attaire.

They were arrested and will appear in court soon.

However Kaizer Chiefs communication Manager Alpheus Vina Maphosa vehemently denies the allegations and said he knows nothing about the incident.

“It is so the very first time I heard this from you. From where we stand, no Kaizer Chiefs player has been arrested” Maphosa said.

Gauteng police spokesperson Lungelo Dlamini could not confirm the incident as his phone rang unanswered.

According to reports, the suspects who were arrested along with the player were allegedly involved in a hijack that was caught on camera in JHB CBD weeks ago.-TDN

Lichtenburg-North West police arrested two suspects in Blydeville township, near Lichtenburg for dealing with drugs.

Two males aged 30 and 33 were found in possession of drugs on Monday after a tip-off at Blydeville Location.

“The suspects were allegedly found in possession of drugs worth the estimated value of  R14 000,00” sergeant Kealeboga Molale said.

The suspects were arrested and they will appear before the Lichtenburg Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.

A case of possession of drugs is investigated.-TDN

Taung-A 31 year-old parolee is expected to appear before Taung Magistrate Court for alleged rape.

Police said a 31 year-old man allegedly raped a woman,78 in a veld after he accosted on her.

Sergeant Kealeboga Molale said on Monday at around 14:00 pm, a woman was busy gathering firewood when a known suspect pounced on her.

“He allegedly produced a knife and threatened a woman. He grabbed and raped her. A woman informed her son about monstrousness and a suspects was apprehended by community members” said Molale.

The suspect is expected to appear before court for rape.

He was allegedly found at a nearby sheeben drinking.

The incident took place at Maphoitsile village, near Taung.-TDN
