Carltonville-Two vehicles collided head on into one another while travelling on the R500 in Carletonville this morning. 

Just before 11am this morning, paramedics arrived on the scene. 

“They found that an eight year-old child had tragically been killed as a result of injuries sustained in the crash, while a woman was left in a critical condition having suffered multiple broken bones” Er24 spokesperson in North West, Chris Venter said. 

Venter said while they stabilised the woman on scene, they called in the assistance of AER24 which airlifted the woman to Milpark hospital.

Another woman and two men, along with two children, had suffered moderate or minor injuries and they were taken to hospitals in the area by ambulance.

“The cause of this tragic crash is not known and is currently under investigation by local authorities” said Venter.-TDN
