Potchefstroom – Two men died and two others were seriously injured when their car overturned on the N12 near Potchefstroom, North West, on Monday, paramedics said.

One man died instantly and the other succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead on the scene around 9.30am, ER24 spokeswoman Luyanda Majija said in a statement.

The two injured men were airlifted to Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital in Soweto.

ER24 paramedic Gerhard Engelbrecht said collisions frequently took place on the road due to drivers becoming impatient.

“This road transitions from double lanes to single lanes quite often… drivers get very impatient. They speed and overtake across solid lines, this is what causes most accidents here,” he said.
