Kimberley – Two men were seriously injured when a fuel tank they were working on exploded in Kimberley on Thursday, paramedics said.

“The men were busy with some welding on a fuel tank when the heat caused it to explode,” ER24 spokesman Christo Venter said in a statement.

He said both men sustained second and third degree burns and one of them suffered a broken bone.

They were taken to the Kimberley provincial hospital.
