NWest to empower anti-corruption structures to unmask corruption

Rustenburg-The Office of North West Premier, Thandi Modise will be hosting its 3rd Annual Anti- Corruption Roundtable Discussion to empower anti-corruption structures tounmask corruption, promote ethical culture, deepen understanding of the many facets of the scourge of corruption and strengthen implementation of programmes to combat the scourge of corruption. 

 

The two-day Roundtable Discussion to be held in partnership with the Provincial Anti-Corruption Forum under the theme “The Battle Against Corruption – Our Vision Towards Good Financial Management” commences with a learning network gala dinner to be addressed by Premier Modise at the Orion Safari Hotel in Rustenburg on Wednesday evening(tomorrow).“Although those who thrive on corruption will do everything in their power to destabilise and undermine our efforts to achieve clean governance and administration as it does not serve their interests, unmasking the network of corruption syndicates is a patriotic duty of every one of us.” said Modise ahead of the Learning Network Masquerade Ball at which all participants will wear masks depicting the sub-theme theme” unmasking corruption towards a clean audit”.

 

 

The learning network session and roundtable will also be addressed on the use of cellphones to perpetuate fraud, corruption and the technological equipment used in cyber crime.

 

 

Other speakers on the intense programme for the roundtable discussion sponsored by Aurecon and supported by South African Local Government Association (SALGA-North West) and North West University include Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng, Statistician General Pali Lehohla, and National Head of the Asset Forfeiture Unit in the National Prosecution Agency, Willie Hoffmeyer.-TDN
