Taung- A young inspiring Dj is planning to pull all stops to reach his mark. ShakesDj, as Boikanyo Makodi is affectionately known to his followers said deejaying is running through his veins.
A 21 year-old club Dj started to be behind the decks since 2010 and he never looked back.

“I am very grateful to all my followers as being a Dj is not an easy task. As a Dj you need to know and feel what patrons on the dance floor want” said ShakesDj.

Taung-born Dj released his single track called Happy Place.

“We did collaboration with my fellow colleagues at Sonicwavemusic and released a single called Happy Place” he smiles.

Being a first-born and brought up by a single parent that did not stop ShakesDj as he is also studying Science Technology and Radio production part-time.

He said the single is doing wonders locally and it keeps music lovers begging for more.

Even though a 21 year-old Dj is not planning to release an album this year, he promises that, come next year he will be competing against big names.

Makodi advised youngsters who would like to be Djs that they must also take their education more seriously as one can fall back if things do not go your way.

He also applauds his mom for the unwavering support.

“I am not luck, but blessed…even though my upbringing was not so conducive, I still held my head up and remember your attitude determines your altitude” concludes ShakesDj.-TDN
