Lehurutshe- North West police arrested a 21-year-old suspect for allegedly raping a 28-year-old victim on Saturday, at about 19:00 in Ntswelentsoku, Lehurutshe.

“It is alleged that the victim was on her way to the shop when she was confronted by the suspect. The suspect forcefully took the complainant to the nearby bushes and raped her” sergeant Kelebogile Moiloa said.

Police said it is further alleged that after the incident the suspect took the victim to a nearby tavern and she managed to run away. “The suspect followed her and took her back to the bushes and threatened her with a knife before he raped her again and robbed her undisclosed amount of cash” Moiloa said.
The suspect was arrested and is expected to appear before the Lehurutshe Magistrates’ Court today, on charges of Rape and Common Robbery.-TDN
