Mahikeng – A 38-year-old suspect was arrested for allegedly kidnapping and raping a 38-year-old victim from 24 October 2013 until 26 October 2013, North West police said.
Police said the incident took place at about 16:00 in Imperial Resort, Mahikeng.

“It is alleged that the victim was crossing the road between Imperial resort and Ramosadi village when she was confronted by the suspect. The suspect grabbed the complainant from behind, assaulted her and forced her to his residential place where he raped her” sergeant Kelebogile Moiloa said.

.Moiloa said on 26 October 2013 at about 18:30, the victim managed to escape from the suspect’s place and went straight to the police station to report the matter and the suspect was arrested.

The suspect is expected to appear before Mafikeng Magistrates’ Court on Monday on charges of Kidnapping and Rape. –TDN
