SAFA President, Dr Danny Jordaan has been invited to address a Sports Summit organised by the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF).The two-day summit will be held from 21 -22 October 2013 in the Grand Cayman Islands in the Caribbean under the heading “Transformation through Partnership”.
At the landmark summit, which will be hosted by CONCACAF President Jeffrey Webb, guests will hear analysis and opinions about the economic role of football in different societies.
Dr Jordaan will be speaking on the topic of ‘Football in your Economy’ where he will be giving insight on football events and their sustainable legacies to the local economy.
FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter will deliver a keynote address talking about the ‘Power of Football.’

There will also be presentations from the English Premier League, Major League Soccer and UNAIDS.
The SAFA President recently returned from Brazil where he was the main speaker at the ‘The Future of Football’ symposium held in the southern city of Porto Alegre. He received a standing ovation following his presentation in which he explained the huge socio-economic spin offs the country stands to gain if all goes according to plan in next year’s global showpiece.
