
Johannesburg – A pilot was injured when his aircraft crashed at the Secunda Airshow in Mpumalanga, on Saturday, the event organiser said.
“There was an injury, the pilot was evacuated,” organiser Hannes van Heerden said.
He said the show would continue in the afternoon.
ER24 spokesperson Werner Vermaak said the pilot suffered several injuries, but the extent of his injuries was not immediately known.
“ER24 received an emergency call, but before [paramedics] arrived on scene, he had already been airlifted to Medi-Clinic Highveld.”
Further details were not immediately available.
