The search for two missing North West teenagers, who are presumed to have drowned at Camps Bay Beach in the Cape Peninsula last week, continues.
Western Cape police and sea rescue officials are combing the area for a fourth day since the tragedy on Wednesday.
The NSRI reports that the pair disappeared in the waves while trying to help another learner who was caught in deep waters. The learner was later saved by a member of the public.
They were part of a group of learners from R.B Dithupe School in the North West who were on a school tour of the Cape Peninsula.
NSRI spokesperson, Craig Lambinon, says that they are continuing their search despite the rough seas.
“Very rough sea conditions prevail in that area, but the police’s five units and Camps Bay police remain on the scene and are continuing with the search,” says Lambinon.
