A male passenger died while a drive and another passenger survived with serious injuries in an accident that happened around 06H00 this morning on the road between Brits and Bokfontein this morning. 

According to police, the driver lost control and the bakkie rolled several times. 

The casualties were rushed to the nearest hospital.

Meanwhile Lichtenburg Police reported that two pedestrians were hit and killed by vehicles in two separate incidents in Colligney outside Lichtenburg yesterday. 

“Two female victims were aged between 9 and 44. The first incident happened on Friday morning while the second happened in the evening” departmental spokesperson Ben Mokotedi said. 

Police are investigating a case culpable homicide on all three incidents.

MEC for Human Settlements Public Safety and Liaison called on motorist to be extra careful and adhere to the rules of the road. 

MEC Maloyi further called on pedestrians to wear bright cloths, especially in the evening and adhere to pedestrian road safety tips.-TDN
