Zeerust-North West police are looking for unknown suspects for spree of business robberies took place on Thursday.
Police said unknown suspects wearing a balaclavas allegedly stormed into a business place belonged to a local man, armed with rifles and robbed a store.
“They allegedly robbed him off his airtime vouchers,cigarettes and undisclosed amount of money” captain Pelonomi Makau said.
The incident took place at Ikageleng, near Zeerust at around 20:30.
In another similar incident, a woman was allegedly robbed by the same suspects outside her shop.
“The incident allegedly took place exactly thirty minutes after the first one. It is alleged that the shop-owner was closing a business at around 21:30 when she was approached by same descriptioin fit first suspects” Makau said.
The suspects allegedly robbed her a handbag and fled the scene.
Again thirty minutes later, a driver was shot at by unknown suspects after being followed.
A man was driving along the road when he allegedly realised that he has been followed by suspecting vehicle.
He allegedly sped-off and suspects opened fire.A passenger was shot and rushed to a local hospital for medical attention.
“The suspects are still at large and police are asking and appealing to anyone with information who can assist in the arrest of the suspects to please contact the Zeerust Detectives on 018 642 8020 or 082 384 9416” Makau said.
