Johannesburg – A Durban Magistrate’s Court prosecutor was arrested on Tuesday on charges of corruption, KwaZulu-Natal police said.
She allegedly demanded R1 000 from an advocate to make a case of fraud and assault against his client disappear, police spokesperson Vincent Mdunge said.
A trap was set and a sworn statement was obtained from the advocate.
The money was handed over.
Police officers then entered the court while it was in session and conducted a search.
The marked notes were found in the prosecutor’s possession.
She would appear in the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
