Potchefstroom-North West police arrested three suspects on Saturday at Ikageng location, near Potchefstroom after a murder of a domestic worker.

Police said on Thursday, a teenager who was working as a domestic worker at Mohadin section in Ikageng location was allegedly bludgeoned by suspects.

“Police arrested three suspects aged between 18 and 28 at their residential area after a 17 year-old girl who was working as a domestic worker was killed” captain Pelonomi Maku said.

A teenager was killed in an alleged house robbery.

Police said three suspects gain entry at the couple’s house aged 71 and 68 respectively.

“The suspects allegedly found a girl in her outside room and stabbed her to death” said Makau.

An employer allegedly went out to check on the girl and was allegedly over-powered by suspects.

They allegedly took her to the main house and found her sickly husband.

“The suspects allegedly tied them up and helped themselves to credit card and cellphone before they fled the scene” police said.

The suspects demanded a pin and threatened the couple with a gun and a knife said police.

Police reacted swiftly and arrested three suspects on Saturday after investigations.

Three suspects will appear before Potchefstroom Magistrate Court for murder and house robbery charges on Tuesday.
