Rustenburg-North West Flying Squad Unit recovered a stolen vehicle. The members were patrolling around Rustenburg when they picked up a signal of a vehicle which was reported stolen. 

“The police officers followed a signal and spotted the vehicle abandoned at one of the streets in Rustenburg North” captain Pelonomi Makau said.

Makau said that a man and his girlfriend fled from abandoned car after allegedly noticing police.

“The two fled to a nearby block of flats, but police later traced and arrested a woman at her rented room where they allegedly recovered stolen goods that include a sound system and motor vehicle batteries” said Makau.

After police investigation, it was established that the vehicle was stolen during an early hours of Monday at Meriting in Extension 1 near Rustenburg.

The suspect (21) will appeared at Rustenburg Magistrates’ Court on charges of possession of suspected stolen goods. 

“The other suspect escaped and is still at large. Police are investigation” said Makau.
