Rustenburg-Police detective in Tlhabane have scored a number of successes in recent weeks.
Last week alone, police managed to secure two convictions in the cases of murder. “Erens Modise Ditsebe (27) was found guilty of murder. On 30 January 2012, Ditsebe murdered his girlfriend at Yizo-yizo informal settlement after an altercation over money” Colonel Sabata Mokgwabone said.
For that crime, Ditsebe was sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment.
In another case, Thabo Edward Gumede (32) was found guilty of murder. The court heard that on Thursday, 16 August 2012, that Gumede had stabbed to death Buti Morau (25) after an argument over a cellphone at a tavern in Lefaragatlha.
“Gumede received a five years jail-term. Both cases were investigated by Detective Warrant Officer Magano of Tlhabane Detectives Unit” said Mokgwabone.
