Taung-North West police are investigating a case of inquest after a person’s remains found next to the bridge at Thuneng village, near Taung.

According to police, the human remains were found by a passerby.

“A passerby was allegedly riding his bicycle towards Lokaleng village when he spotted bones look like of a human being. He alerted the police and the human being’s remains were taken to Vryburg for autopsy” Myburgh said.

Myburgh said a walking stick was found next to the man and believed he was a sheperd.

Police request anyone who can identify the deceased shall come forward.
