Messages of support poured in from different youth political groups in the province to congratulate the provinces duo of Bongiwe Mbinqo-Gigaba and Maropene Ntuli in their appointment in the ANC Youth League’s national task team (NTT).

The team will be headed by Mzwandile Masina as convener and Magasela Mzobe as the coordinator.

The ANCYL provincial secretary, Dikgang Stock, said they were happy with the inclusion of Ntuli and Mbinqo-Gigaba.

“When we received the news we immediately called them and wished them well. I told them that they are faced with a daunting task to unify the youth league,” he said.

Stock indicated that the province would assist and support Mbinqo-Gigaba and Ntuli in their new deployment. “They clearly need our support and we cannot deny them that. The President (Jacob Zuma) has called for unity in the organisation and we are working towards that, to unify our people and our structures. The NTT will therefore need our support in this regard.”

The provincial secretary of the Young Communist League, Kabelo Mohibidu, also congratulated them.

“We were in fact, forming part of the process of appointing the two. We endorsed their names and gave input to the SG (secretary-general) on why we think they can take the league forward. We are glad that the ANC listened to us.”

Mohibidu referred to Mbinqo-Gigaba and Ntuli as “young female activists who will revive the youth league moving”.

ANCYL provincial chairperson, Shadrack Tlhaole, joined the chorus of congratulations and hailed Ntuli and Mbinqo-Gigaba as outstanding leaders.
