Taung-A water shortage has been rife in North West for the past two years.
This problem affects mostly livestock owners and farmers including communities.
Tlapeng residents near Taung have been out of water since the main pipe that distribute water burst.
According to residents the pipe was muffled up by a Electrical company truck a month ago.
This happened at Sewedi Park RDP house were an Electrical company busy installing electricity in the area.
“We have dealt with that issue and we can proudly say the residents of Tlapeng at large are now receiving water” said ward councillor Lekgotlha Menyatso.
The ward councillor outlined that the pipe has burst before and now they have put temporary tanks in place to provide water to the community.
“I think it is for the fourth time since the major pipe burst and we’ve realised that by fixing it while those people who are installing electricity in the area still busy, that won’t help” Menyatso said.
According to ward councillor, the company installing electricity in the area will complete on the 28th of April 2013 and they will fix the main water supply pipe.
