Cape Town- A 34 year-old man has been arrested in Cape Town after found in possession of illegal firearms.

Police said a man was arrested after a tip-off and they found AK47 that was stolen in Kwazulu-Natal back in 1999.

“A man was arrested after R5 rifle, 9mm pistol and AK47 were found at his house hidden under a bath tub in bath room” captain F C Van Wyk told Sapa.

A man was arrested on Friday and will appear at Athlone Magistrate Court on Monday.

Police said R5 rifle was stolen at Parow police station back in 2011.
