The major game for the ANC in the year to April 2014 will be to stop or stall South Africa’s multitude of variations on opposition politics from finding footholds in party political opposition.

Party politically much appears to be under control for the ANC. New political parties are born, but have the micro-party gene etched on to their DNA. Outcomes of Election 2014 seem broadly predictable, if not virtual certainties. Yet, this constancy is delusionary.
