Potchestroom- ANC North West ha expressed a shock after the Hawks arrested MEC for Local Government & Traditional Affairs.

” We are very shocked regarding the arrest of our MEC and we believe the law will take its course. We trust our justice system and we do not need to press any panic button yet as those who are arrested are innocent until the court of law found them guilty” Kenny Morolong said.

“In the same breath the family of Obuti Chika will find closure at last regarding the death of their beloved son, father, husband Obuti Chika” ANC provincial spokesperson said.

The MEC for Local  Government & Traditional Affairs was arrested today in connection of ANC Regional secretary Obuti Chika murder.

Chika was shot dead in the driveway of his house in Alabama, near Klerksdorp a day before ANC Elective conference in Mangaung.

The premier of North West appeals for calm following arrest of MEC China Dodovu in connection with Chika murder case.

Modise called on communities to allow the law to take its course for justice to be done for the Chika family to find closure to their tragic loss and end speculations as to who is/are responsible for his untimely death.

“While we note the arrest and hope that justice will be done, we also believe that every suspect is innocent until proven guilty by the court of law. It is on this basis that we suspport further and intensive investigation into the matter” premier Modise said.

Modise outlines that in the meantime the MEC will be suspended and MEC for Finance, Paul Sebegoe will be acting in the position.
