Johannesburg – Double amputee and Paralympic gold medallist Oscar Pistorius has reportedly shot and killed his girlfriend after thinking she was a burglar, Beeld are reporting.

The website is reporting that the incident happened at his Silver Lakes home at around 4am on Thursday morning.

Details remain sketchy, but a Captain Sarah Mcira reportedly confirmed to the website that Pistorius’s girlfriend was shot in the head and arm and died on the scene.

Pistorius has been taken into police custody and is expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court later on Thursday. – IOL
