Johannesburg – Vehicle manufacturer Daimler Chrysler’s chief executive officer Trent Barcroft was in hospital after he was shot at during a robbery in Midrand, Gauteng police said on Wednesday.

“He was with his wife, who was unharmed. He was shot in the stomach… the attackers took jewellery, cellphones and the wife’s handbag,” spokeswoman Captain Kym Cloete said.

The two were on their way home when the attack happened on Tuesday.
