A man robbed,left stranded

Rustenburg- A 26 year-old man robbed and left stranded police said.

“A 26 year old man was hitch-hiking at a garage when approached by a Jetta. They offered him a lift and allegedly robbed him his cellphone and undisclosed amount of cash” captain Adele Myburgh said.

Police managed to track down one suspect whilst others two still at large.

The suspect will appear before Rustenburg Magistrate Court on Monday for armed robbery.

A 18 year-old boy arrested for murder

Ottosdal-North West police arrested a 18 year-old man after he allegedly stabbed a 25 year-old to death.

The incident happened at Taung street police said.

“Two men were engaged in a quarrel that precipitated to a fight. A 18 year-old man drew a screwdriver and allegedly stabbed a 25 year-old man to death” captain Adele Myburgh said.

“Shadrack Sebanda,25 was certified dead by paramedics. The suspect was arrested and will appear before magistrate on Tuesday at Ottosdal” Myburgh said.

Hartbeeesfontein woman raped by a friend

Hartbeesfontein- A 49 year old woman allegedly raped by a her male friend while on their way to the bank North West police said.

“According to information, a 49 year-old woman accompanied her male friend to the bank and on their way, a man allegedly raped her” captain Adele Myburgh said.

The police later arrested the man and will appear before Klerksdorp Magistrate Court soon.

Two suspects arrested for hijacking

Klerksdorp-North West police arrsted two suspects aged 40 and 48 respectively after they allegedly hijacked a truck.

The truck driver allegedly parked his truck beneath the bridge at Irene Park to rest police said.

“Two armed suspects allegedly pounced on a truck-driver and instructed him to drive towards Potchefstroom” captain Adele Myburgh said.

“The armed suspects allegedly withdrew some cash from the driver’s bank account on their way” she said.

The victim managed to escape and ran another shop where police were called.

Police acted swiftly and managed to arrest two suspects.

They will appear before magistrate at Klerksdorp Magistrate Court soon.

A driver died after losing control

Kimberley-Northern Cape police are investigating a culpable homicide case after a driver of a charcoal BMW lost control of his car and perished in the process.

“It is alleged that a driver of a BMW car lost control of his car at Phakamile Mabhija” Lieutenant Olebogeng Tawana said.

The car rolled several times before hitting a tree,police said.

“The engine of the BMW car was found miles away from actual scene and a passage who was in the car was rushed to the local hospital” he said.

The driver was confirmed dead on the scene by paramedics.

Police are investigating a culpable homicide case.

Ambulance collided with a VW

Kimberley-Three patients and a driver of a VW suffered minor injuries after an ambulance they were travelling in.

An ambulance collided with a VW (red) at Waterworks and Long street intersection. 

“The accident took place on Friday while an ambulance was travelling towards Prieska with three patients” Lieutenant Olebogeng Tawana said.

“The patients and a driver of a VW were rushed to Kimberley Hospital after they suffered minor injuries” Tawana said.

The police are investigating reckless and negligence driving.

Northern Cape police recovered a stolen car

Kimberley-Police recovered a stolen white Ford Escort at about 00:15 in the early hours of Saturday Northern Cape police said.

The Kimberley police were on their way to Green- Point to attend to a complaint when they spotted a reckless and negligent driving white Ford Escort on the Barkly Road. “The driver of the Escort failed to stop on the stop signs and was driving on the public road without tail lights.” Lieutentant Olebogeng Tawana said.

 “The police became suspicious and tried to pull the Ford off the road. However the driver refused to stop and sped off” Tawana said.

The chase ensued between the police and the suspects. 

The suspects drove towards Douglas road at a high speed and took a turn off at Langeberg gravel road.

 After realising that the police do not give up chasing after them they stopped the vehicle in the middle of the road and fled into dark veld, leaving a pair of shoes on the crime scene and the car engine running. “The vehicle was cornfirmed positive as stolen” He said.

The car was allegedly stolen in December last year at Jan-Cilliers Street. 

Four suspects who were the occupants of the Ford Escort are still at large, any person who might have been seeing this white Ford Escort in the neighbourhood or anyway have the information that may lead to the arrest of the suspects can contact the Kimberley police on 053 8384 200 or 10 111.
