A Sangoma denied bail after court appearance

Taung- A Sangoma was denied bail today by Taung Magistrate Court after a brief appearances.

Monnahela,34 was arrested in connection of murder after a mutilated body of a Schweizer-Reneke born teenager,17 was found floating on the water at nearby river.

A headless body of a victim was allegedly wrapped in a black plastic bag and was discovered by a passerby who alerted the community.

The Police were summoned to the area where gruesome event were discovered and arrested a well-known Sangoma in the area.

“Mr Monnahela was denied bail and his case was postponed until the 29 of August where he will try to convince court to grant him bail” said Colonel Kgwenyape.

It is alleged that the victim came to see a sangoma for consultations and Police were led to his house after a tip-off.

Monnahela was arrested more than three months ago and facing murder charges.

Manokoane protesters granted bail

Taung- Manokoane protesters appeared briefly in court today in charges of public violence and arson. They were arrested shortly after the community of Manokoane went beserk and burnt three houses belong to two councillors and one to their chief.

The community were protesting for poor service delivery and barricade roads with stones and tree  branches.

They were allegedly not happy about some service provided in the area. They went on rampage after their plea fell in deaf ears of councillors.

“The suspects appeared briefly in court and some of members were reminded in custody because they have other pending cases” said Colonel Mothusi Kgwenyape.

“Other accused were granted a bail of R1000 each” he continues.

Those who were reminded in custody will appear again on Friday for bail application while the initial case were postponed until 29 August.

15 people injured in a taxi accident

johannesburg- fifteen people were fatally injured after a taxi they were travelling in rolled several times before it turned-over.

even though the cause of the accident yet unknown, it seems the driver tried to beat the robots and lost control as other cars came pouncing.

according to bystanders, most commuters were injured and taken to helen joseph hospital in westdene.

wetried to get hold of metro police spokesperson, wayne minaar to get more details but our attempt were futile.

 

 

 

 

A Sangoma back in court

Taung- A Sangoma and his co-accused will appear today in court at Taung for bail application.

Monnahela,34 was reminded in custody since his arrest four months ago. He was arrested shortly after a 17 year-old girl’s lifeless body was found wrapped in a black plastic bag and floating on water.

According to Police reports, a teenager originally was from Schweizer-Reneke and came to see a Sangoma for consultations.

“A body of a 17 year-old girl was found by a passerby near the river and alerted the community, who in turn called the Police” said Brigadier Thulani Ngubane.

Mokgareng community were shocked after the gruesome discovery.

According to Investigative Officer, they are very adamant and will oppose his bail application.

Police to destroy counterfeited CDs and DVDs

Alberton,Johannesburg- Police will be destroying counterfeit cds and dvds seized during the operation at the heart of the city, Johannesburg.

Piracy Is one of the unrest issues on the Police radar. Many musicians has been engaged in a march against piracy, but up to so far buyoed hawkers keep taking foods away from their table.

“Police are tying by  means to break all barriers to unroot the problem. Up to so far we are breakingthrough and hope to deal with this precisely” said an on-duty Police who did not want be quoted, as he not authorised to speak to the media.

Police were in full swing when they pounced on unsuspecting hawkers. the minute they realised that Metro Police are hot on their heels, they ran to different directions like confused dinosaurs fleeing Juriseen Park.

Police will destruct consficated DVDs and fake CDs seized during the operation tomorrow at Metals and Plastic 224 Bosworth street,Alrode near Alberton at 09:00.

Operation Basadi started with a bang

Upington- South Africa is celebrating women’s month which is August under the theme of “Wathintha Bafazi… wa thintha ubhokhotho” losely tanslated, you strike a woman, you strike a rock.

South African Police Service in Northern Cape Province piloted an operation called Operation Basadi.

“Operation Basadi was to crack down crimes taking place in the province. The project was kickstarted positively with bang at crime-bound area, Upington” said the povince spokesperson.

“And 129 suspects were arrested for various crimes and drugs valued at R12000 were recovered. Also 2250 litres were consficated in the process” SAPS spokesperson said.

Limpopo tender increase a “flagrant Abuse”-DA

Limpopo- Democratic Alliance want the enthusiastic Public Protector, Thuli Madonsela to cast her chattering eyes on the increase of tender given to Steven Bosch compan- owned, Raesetja Property Developers.

According to reports, the R41m tender has been increased to a whopping R53m.

The Raesetja company was assigned to construct Seshego Resident Projects.

“A 12 million increase to a company that missed its two deadlines previously, that is a flagrant abuse” said DA spokesperson in the province, Desiree van der Walt.

It is alleged that Steven Bosch has more connection in high places and he might obtained his tenders using that.

Bosch said to be so close with ANC bigwigs in the province including ANCYL expelled president, Julius Malema.

Head on collision claim a man’s life

Zeerust- A man lost his life after a head on collision in Zeerust. According to the reports, a 31 year-old who was a Btswana citizen was travelling along Zeerust road from Groot Marico and lost control of his Toyota.

He went head on to a coming bakkie which belongs to Fidelity Security Company.

“Unfortunately a Botswana National lost control of his Toyota and that resulted in his passing” said Sergeant Kelebogile Moiloa.

The other two occupants who were in a bakkie suffered slightly injured and were rushed  the local hospital.

Police continue wth investigations and culpable homicide case opened. 

A 30 year-old woman raped

Mooinoi- Police are searching for three unknown supects who allegedly robbed and raped a woman while hitch-hiking with her husband.

According to information received three  pulled over and pointed a gun at both victims and ordered a woman to get into the car.

” the victim was taken to the nearest bushes and raped several times.she said the fourth suspect did not take part in raping her, however he helped himself with her cellphone and money”  said moiloa.

after the ordeal, they drove back where they picked her and drop her.
