Madibogo- A 57 year old man, Lazurus Setlhako of Dipompong Section in Madibogo was sentenced to 12 years in jail after he raped a minor who is his granddaughter North West police said.

It was said that in May, Setlhako lured a little girl into his room as they stay the same house. Hew repeatedly raped the 5 year-old girl and at around 00:00 the girl’s mother suprisingly arrived.

“The mother of a five year-old girl is working at Rustenburg and she arrived unexpectedly. She realised that there is something wrong with her daughter stomach and thought she might ate something wrong” Colonel Metsi said.

“The minor explains that her unfortunately her grandfather raped her. The girl was taken to the nearest clinic and the rape was confirmed. Setlhako appeared at Ditsobotla Magistrate Court and was handed a 12 year imprisonment” He adds.
