A man robbed,shot and hijacked

Ottoshoop- A 50 year-old businessman robbed and hijacked while at home. North West police are investigating a case of robbery and hijacking after robbers pounced on a businessman.

It is alleged that a 50 year-old man was sitting at home with his wife when suspects entered the house police said.

“Police were called at Grootvlei farm after four supects entered the house of businessman and robbed him” Emelda Setlhako said.

“A 50 year-old man was sitting with his family and friends when four suspects entered the house and demand cash” She said.

The suspects allegedly robbed the couple their cellphones and made way with Toyota Yaris belonging to the victim.

The victims were held at gunpoint and two shots were fired.  

“He has been shot on a shoulder and neck and was rushed to Victoria hospital where he was treated for gunshot” Setlhako said.

“The victim’s car was later found abandoned at Buurmansdrift” She continues.

No one has been arrested yet and police are looking for suspects who are still at large.

A 32 year-old victim died in a fatal accident

Mmabatho- North West police arrested a 22 year-old woman for culpable homicide after she allegedly knocked and killed a 32 year-old pedestrian.

“A 22 year-old woman was driving along Albert Luthuli road in Mmabatho when she  lost control of her vehicle” Colonel Emelda Setlhako said.

“A 32 year-old victim was knocked down by a car and was certified dead on the scene by paramedics” She said.

It is alleged that a woman driver lost control and plunged to a victim.

According to eyewitness her car overturned and was badly damaged.

Police were called and a case of culpable homicide was registered. 

A 26 year-old man arrested for a murder

Lomanyaneng- A 26 year old man arrested for murder on saturday at Lomanyaneng near Mahikeng North West police said.

“A suspect and victim were on their  way home from a nearest tavern along with their friends when an argument ensued” Colonel Setlhako said.

“The two men were allegedly engaged in an argument and a suspect took out a knife and stabbed a victim in a chest” She said.

The incident took place near Dithakong clinic. The victim died on the scene and police were called.

“The victim’s lifeless boddy were taken to government motuary as police were still trying to lcate his next of kin” Setlhako added.

The suspect will appear before magistrate soon with murder charge. 

Two girls suffocated to death

Zeerust- North West police are investigating  an inquest docket after two girls were killed allegedly by heat.

“Two girls aged 2 and 3 were allegedly playing inside a wrecked car parked in the yard” Colonel Emelda Setlhako said.

The incident took place on saturday at Henryville Township.

“According to information received the kids were playing in the wreckage and when the doors and its windows were locked and they were unable to get out” Colonel Setlhako said.

The kids were suffocated and that allegedly led to their death.

They were left under their grandparent guidance and their mother was at work.

The case of inquest has been opened and investigations continue.
