The wife of the priest who was killed at Harrismith on Thursday, 59-year-old Dorothea Britz is still in the Medi-clinic hospital in Bloemfontein following injuries she sustained during the attack.

Sixty-year old Willem Britz and the fiancé of his daughter were shot and killed at the priest’s home, a close family member and an alleged accomplice will appear in the local magistrate’s court today on two charges of murder.

The hospital’s spokesperson, Amanda Appelgryn, says Mrs Britz is in a critical condition. “Mrs Dorothea Britz was admitted on Friday evening, she’s currently in the Intensive Care unit in a critical condition after she suffered a severe head injury. She was taken to theatre on Friday evening by a neuro-surgeon for treatment of the wound and will probably be going back to theatre again during the week for treatment of the wound again; she’s on a ventilator and will perhaps go for brain scans during the next two days.”
