RUSTENBURG-On Monday forty (40) mineworkers barricade the road leading to the Extrata Kroondal Mine near Matebeleng informal settlement North West police said.

“The miners threw stones at the police when they were asked not to disturb the smooth flow of traffic. Police used rubber bullets to disperse miners” Captain Makau said.

“Sixty (60) other mineworkers were sitting 100 metres away from the mine waiting for their leadership who were engaged in a meeting with the mine management to give them report on the outcome of their demands” She said.

No injuries were reported.
