Chiefs beats Chippa United

Tefu Mashamaite and Lehlohonolo Majoro scored Kaizer Chiefs’ 14th and 15th goal of the League season as the Soweto Giants did away with Chippa United, beating the Premiership rookies 2-0 at Soccer City on Saturday night.

The first 45 minutes saw the Amakhosi firmly in control as they dictated the midfield battle and almost create chances in front of goal at will.

Siphiwe Tshabalala and Reneilwe Letsholonyane in particular were combing well and creating havoc for the Chippa team with their defence splitting passes.

Still, despite their utter domination of the game, Chiefs’ first real chance of the game came in the 36th minute when Letsholonyane slipped parker through on goal with a great pass on the edge of the box.

Parker, though, saw his attempted toe-poke well smothered by Kassaly Daouda who was quick of his line to advert the danger.

The ANC membership stands at 1.2 million and has 3 687 branches in good standing. About 631 branches have been disqualified and the appeal process for such branches has now been closed. The allocation of delegates to qualifying branches will be done later.

Mantashe admitted that ANC membership in KZN grew by close to 90 000 members since January this year while the Eastern Cape membership shrunk by almost 40 000 members in the same period.

Meanwhile, Western Cape Local Government Minister Anton Bredell says he has not yet received a recommendation from the City of Cape Town to fire ANC councillor Andile Lili for alleged misconduct. The DA led council has voted for the dismissal of Lili after the City’s disciplinary committee found him to have contravened the councillors code of conduct.
