South Africans to officiate in Tournament

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced a 43-member CAF delegation to serve on the Local Organising Committee of the 8th Edition of the African Women’s Championship scheduled for Equatorial Guinea. The matches will be played in Malabo and Bata from the 28th of October – 11 November 2012.

 

There are five South African officials on the list. These are Dr. Molefi Oliphant, Honorary President of the South African Football Association (SAFA). He will head the Organising Committee, while Natasia Tshiclas will act as his deputy. Dr. Moolla will serve as a member of the medical committee with Fran Hilton-Smith, SAFA’s Technical Director-Women’s Football working as a member of the Technical Study Group. Sue Destombes has been appointed General Coordinator of Group A.

 

Group A consists of hosts, Equatorial Guinea, South Africa, Senegal and DR Congo.

 

Reigning champions, Nigeria is in Group B alongside Cote D’Ivoire, Ethiopia and Cameroon.
