The Councillor who served in Madibeng Local Municipality reportedly sustained rubber bullets wounds during a raid conducted by police at Nkaneng informal settlements on Saturday.

 

Premier Modise had earlier expressed condolences to the family on the loss of their loved ones and to the community on the loss of their loyal servant who was very helpful throughout the conflict and stood by the ANC branch and did not desert the miners.

 

The Premier has appealed that while authorities investigate the councillor’s alleged shooting and subsequent death, members of the public should remain calm and not speculate on the cause of her death as a post-mortem will confirm the actual cause of her death.

 

Bojanala Platinum District Municipality has in support of the Inter ministerial Committee (IMC) been responsible for coordination of support activated by government to support the family as it has done with all other victims of the Marikana tragedy.
