Mbombela- Premier Soccer League trendsetter, Kaizer Chiefs are ready to continue with their sterling form tonight when they tackle Bidvest Wits for a leaugue encounter.
Chiefs are leading the pack with 10 points, two points adrift the second placed team.
Bafana international and Chiefs midfielder, Simphiwe Tshabalala has been outstanding for Soweto giants, even though sometimes had a bad day in the office like any individual.
This sometimes make his supporters and the whole soccer fanatics to be impatient and prelude in giving him flacks.
However Shabba says he is unfazed and ready to go.
Siphiwe Tshabalala believes that there are more goals to come after opening his account for the season in an emphatic 2-1 victory against Black Leopards on Wednesday.
The Phiri born midfielder has been one of the top scoring midfielders in the gold and black in the past four seasons.
It is because of his goals and sometimes his creativity that has seen him walking away with Kaizer Chiefs Player of the Season in 2008/2009 and 2011/2012.
“I am delighted to have scored my first goal of the season. Sometimes you wonder when the goal is going to come and I am glad it finally did” said Shabba with a smile.
“I always aim to score more goals in a season but then again for me the teams success is more important than individual goals. I am happy to create or make a contribution as long as we get maximum points” He continues.
Shabba dedicated the goal to her younger sister Nompumelelo, who was celebrating her birthday on Wednesday, She turned 14 and despite being younger has been a pillar of strength in the family.
“Last week was an important one for us as it was my late mum’s birthday on Friday (21 September). My mum was a massive fan of the Club” asserted Shabba.
The Glamour Boys travel to Nelspruit to honour a meeting with Bidvest Wits.
“With the Leopards game out of the way. We are now focusing on Bidvest Wits. They have strengthened the team and will prove tough but then again if you want to win things you should be prepared to beat anyone. We are going to Nelspruit with a positive attitude” he said.
Shabba watched the last game between the two sides at the same stadium on the stands as he was out with injury.
“We were unlucky to draw 1 all after Bernard Parker had given us an early lead. Kaizer Chiefs supporters had come in numbers and I am quite sure that it will be same on Monday” told Chiefs website.
Kickoff for the game is at 18:00 at Mbombela Stadium.
