The Delareyville police are investigating a case of Rape after a 22-year-old woman was raped by a 42-year-old suspect on Friday.

“It is alleged that the victim was on her way to town visiting her boyfriend when she met with the suspect who took her by force to a nearby tavern.  When they got  there the suspect bought the victim liquor to drink” Brigadier Ngubane said. 

After they were done drinking, the suspect took the victim to an unknown place, raped her and went back to the tavern with victim. 

On arrival at the tavern, the suspect locked the victim in the toilet and left with her cell phone. 

The victim cried for help and she was rescued by a woman who was at the tavern.

  The victim reported the matter to the police and the suspect was arrested. 

Investigation continues.
