Taung: A 30-year-old victim was gang raped by six unknown suspects at Ga- Maduane Magogong Village in Taung on Friday 20 July 2012 at about 20:35. The victim was from the shop when the suspects approached her. They threatened to kill her and dragged her to the near bushes. They raped the victim and fled the scene on foot with her cellphone. A case of rape and theft was registered. Investigation continues.

Mahikeng: A 40-year-old Toyota Hilux driver died Friday 20 July 2012 at about 18:20 when his bakkie collided head on with a truck. The incident occurred in Lichtenburg Road. The Toyota Hilux was from Mafikeng to Lichtenburg and the Truck was from Lichtenburg side going to Mafikeng when the accident occurred. Five passengers who were travelling with the truck escaped with minor injuries. The Toyota Hilux driver was alone in the time of the accident. A case of culpable homicide was registered, investigations are underway.

Mmabatho: A case of house robbery was registered after four suspects entered into a house of a 26-year-old in Dibate Village near Mmabatho. It is alleged that the victim and his friends were sitting around the fire outside, when they were confronted by the suspects. The suspects threatened them with firearms and pushed them inside. The suspects fled the scene with undisclosed amount of money, cellphones, ID books and bank cards. Investigation continues.

Lichtenburg: An inquest docket was registered after a 39-year-old was found hanging from the roof on Saturday 21 July 2012 at about 10:00. The incident occurred at Bakerville Village. The victim was found hanging with a rope from the roof in his bedroom and a 25litre container was behind his legs. No suicide note was found. Investigation continues.

Wolmaransstad: Police arrested 26-year-old suspect for allegedly raping a 20-year-old victim on Friday 20 July 2012 at about 22:30. The incident occurred at  Chris Hani Street. It is alleged that the victim was walking along the street when she was confronted by the suspect. He dragged her to his place where he raped her. The suspect is expected to appear before Wolmaransstad Magistrates’ Court on Monday 23 July 2012. Investigation continues.

Rustenburg: Police are searching for four suspects who robbed a 41-year-old Chinese male victim on Saturday 21 July 2012 at about 17:20. The incident occurred at Zakhele Informal Settlement near Rustenburg. It is alleged that the victim was about to close his shop when the four suspects entered. Two of them were armed with firearms. The four suspects fled the scene with the undisclosed amount of money. A case of Business Robbery was registered. Investigation continues.
