A SANGOMA’S CASE REMINDED

Taung- A case of a Sangoma arrested two month ago for allegedly killing a 24 year-old victim was postponed today. The suspect appeared briefly at Taung Magistrate Court and the case was postponed.

“A suspect who is accused of murder of a 24 year old girl from Scweizer-Reneke will remain in custody until his next appearance on the 07b of August for bail application” Colonel Setlhako said.

Inquest still to be opened

An inquest docket has yet to be opened after a pensioner died, reportedly from inhaling pepper spray in Thohoyandou, Limpopo police said on Thursday.

Alpheus Moseri, 68, of Matatadibeng village near Denilton, died on Tuesday afternoon on his way back from the Nelson Mandela memorial lecture presented by President Jacob Zuma

Public warned of bogus cops

The public have been warned to beware of people posing as police officers, Free State police said on Thursday.

Captain Galeboe Maloka said bogus cops would phone the parents of suspects in police custody and inform them money was needed for bail, or a fine.

“Four cases were recently reported whereby parents have deposited money into the bogus cops’ accounts, ranging between R350 and R3 000. Bail and fines are not paid into anyone’s personal account, but at the police station or magistrates’ court.”

The ANC said on Thursday it will not respond to expelled ANC Youth League leader Julius Malema’s remarks about President Jacob Zuma because he is no longer a party member.

“Julius is not a member of the ANC. He has been insulting the president. Why would we respond to someone who is not a member?” spokesman Jackson Mthembu said.

SA woman in Zambian jail for murder

A South African woman was arrested in Zambia following the murder of her husband at a fishing camp, Beeld reported on Thursday.

Fifty-year-old Marius Pienaar disappeared on June 26 in mysterious circumstances at the Nina fishing camp, north of the Caprivi Strip. His body was found in the Zambezi River three days later.

He is believed to have been hit on the back of the head with a tree stump.

A 58 year-old man reminded in Custody!

Rustenburg– A 58 year-old man who was arrested at Swartkopfontein on
tuesday with amount of cash close to R50 000 was reinded in Custody
yesterday.

Donato Milella, 58 was arrested at the border post after he asked
police on duty to communicate with his brother who parked at the
parking lots.

According to the reports, Millella allegedly handed a bag of money to
his brother,however he could not explain where the cash come from. He
was to Motswedi Police Station for question and later arrested.

“Mr Milella appeared briefly in court yesterday at Lehurutshe
Magistrate Court and his case was ppstponed. He will appear again on
the 24 of July for bail application” Captain Pelonomi Makau said.
According to the Police, the money was taken to Motswedi Police
Station for safety.

A man arrested for theft remain in Custody

Rustenburg- Police were called to the scene where a 33 year-old man
being assaulted by the community members.

Ntamo Mbuyiseli,33 was accused of spate of thefts and crime that left
the community rather worried about their safety.

The community decided to take the law their own hands and let
Mbuyiseli face its wrath.

Police acted swiftly to rescue him before he was further assaulted.
Ntamo Mbuyiseli was rescued by Police, however arrested for theft
after a complainant point out at him as the suspect.
He appeared briefly before magistrate and reminded in custody.
” A 33 year-old man, Ntamo Mbuyiseli will appear again in court for
bail application after his case was postponed. He will appear on the
27 of July” captain Maku said.
