A minibus taxi without a windscreen and headlights was impounded in the North West on Wednesday.

Provincial public safety MEC Nono Maloyi said the vehicle appeared to have been involved in a head-on collision, was never repaired, but kept on being used.

“The state of this minibus taxi is shocking. Our people’s lives are in danger.”

The taxi was impounded near Klerksdorp while ferrying passengers from Ottosdal to Johannesburg. – Sapa
