WOMAN (25) ARRESTED FOR BURNING BOYFRIEND’S SHACK

A 25-year-old woman is arrested for burning her boyfriend’s shack on Saturday 02 June 2012 at about 14:00 in Ramatlabana informal settlement in Mahikeng.

 

According to the pregnant suspect, she has been engaged  in a relationship with the 30-year-old victim for some years.

  It is alleged that she heard rumours that her sweetheart is cheating on her and then she decided to pay him a visit. 

The alleged pregnant woman came all the way from Taung to Mahikeng to find a 20-year-old woman opening the door for her.  An argument  occurred between the two  women and the suspect decided  to go and buy paraffin and box of matches. 

 

“The suspect poured paraffin all over the shack and set it alight. The 20-year-old girlfriend immediately called the police and she after called the boyfriend. On arrival  at the scene he saw that his shack was on fire with his Taung sweetheart next to it” Sergant Kelebogile Moiloa said. 

The estimated value of the shack and goods destroyed amounts to R66 000.

 

The police are  investigating case of Assent and the 25-year-old suspect is expected to appear before Mahikeng Magistrate Court tomorrow, 04 June 2012.

 

CRIMES COMMITED OVER THE WEEKEND

The police are investigating a case of Murder after Mfuneko Dinge (28) was murdered in Nkaneng, Marikana yesterday 02 June 2012 at about 10:00.

 

It is alleged that the victim  engaged in an argument with the arrested 34-year-old suspect about things that are happening in the initiation schools. 

 

The suspect became furious about the topic and chased the victim. 

The victim ran until the suspect caught him.  It is also alleged that the suspect assaulted and stabbed the victim on the right side of his chest and the victim died at the scene.

 

Investigations continues.

 

 

In another case in Jouberton, a case of rape is being investigated after a 16-year-old minor was raped on Friday 01 June 2012 at about 21:00.

 

According to the information received, the minor was on her way home coming from a tavern when she was approached by two unknown men.

  One of the suspects threatened her with a knife and pinned her down.  Both the suspects raped the minor and stabbed her three times on her body before disappearing on foot. 

“The minor went to report the matter to the police and she alleges that she was raped while she is six months pregnant” Sergant Kelebogile Moiloa said.

 

 

The suspect are still at large and investigations continues.

 

Still on rape cases, a 13-year-old minor was raped on Friday 01 June 2012 at about 10:00 in Sonder Water section in Ikageng, Potchefstroom.

 

The police arrested a 30-year-old suspect after they did their investigations. 

It is alleged that the complainant was at Madibeng Primary School addressing the learners about children right when one educator told her that the is a student who is not attending school and staying with someone old. 

“The complainant went to the suspect’s place to go and look for the minor.  The complainant found the minor there and the minor told her that she is in a relationship with the suspect and that they do have sexual intercourse” Sergant Kelbogile Moiloa said. 

 

A case of Statutory rape is being investigated.

 

 

 

WARRANT OFFICER MURDERED IN TLHABANE

The police are investigating a case of Murder after a body of a 53-year-old police officer was found at the back of his house in the early hours of Saturday 02  June 2012 at about 5:00 in Tlhabane.

 

It is alleged that the police officer left his house on the evening of Friday 01 June 2012 telling his wife that he is going to pay someone that he owes money. 

 

That night the deceased Warrant officer Patric Lesele who was working in Tlhabane court never returned home.

  The deceased’s wife tried to call her husband but to her surprise the phone rang in the house. 

The woman woke up the following day to go and hang her laundry and only to find her deceased husband lying on the ground at the back door of their house with a wound next to his right eye. 

“The woman informed her son to call the ambulance and when the ambulance arrived at the scene the police officer was certified dead” Bigadier Ngubane said. 

The police were called to the scene and they are investigating a Murder case.

 

So far no one has been arrested and investigations continues.
