Back from an injury, Kaizer Chiefs skilful midfielder Reneilwe Letsholonyane made a grand comeback to Naturena with an impressive performance against Mamelodi Sundowns last night.

He had kind words for his Kaizer Chiefs teammates and technical staff for the support during his long layoff. ‘Yeye’ was injured during a Bafana Bafana camp early this year.

“We worked very hard in training and we were unfortunate to have lost our previous games and in our match today the hard work finally paid off.

“I am happy to have received the man of the match award today as it is a huge confidence booster moving going into the future.

Frustrating time on the sidelines

“The doctors gave me a rough estimate about the duration of my injury which was originally end of the 2011/12 season. Through God’s will, power and doctors help I was able to return much sooner and hopefully help my team reach greater heights with these remaining three games, “he added boldly.

“It’s never easy to watch your teammates struggling and battling to collect points, because at the end of the day it also affects all of us especially our supporters.

Fitness levels

“Every day I am working twice as hard to get to regain my full fitness, but it is still early to push myself to much as I have just returned.

The Soweto born player concluded. “Watching my players train motivates me to work harder and to recover faster and the three points today against Sundowns was an excellent gift.
